About Us

MBA was formed in 1985 to provide medical insurance claims management services to individuals, physicians, bank trust departments and attorneys. Planning began in 1983 and continued until late 1985, when formal execution of the business was implemented. Strategically, the planning focused on:

  1. Identification of a market niche
  2. Integration of technology and market needs
  3. Application of skills and expertise to meet this market need
  4. Integration of business form and function with innovation, flexibility, and management expertise

Since this type of service was new and innovative, some uncertainty existed regarding the viability, market acceptance, and validity of the concept. During 1986, the first year of operation, Medical Business Associates directed its marketing efforts toward retired individuals, bank trust departments and attorneys. By the end of year, little uncertainty remained, as the company had acquired 120 clients, began work for five bank trust departments and several attorneys. This response closely matched MBA's business plan projections.

While the service for individuals is still a viable portion of our business, MBA has focused on the ever-growing and demanding needs of physicians in North Carolina. Our customer base has grown from just two physicians in 1987 to several hundred this year.


Business Philosophy

Our philosophy is to provide the highest quality billing service to NC medical providers. We invest heavily in our staff and in technology. The management team spends enormous amounts of time in training our staff on the ever-changing rules and regulations that surround this industry. Our focus is on quality, not quantity.

Consistent Growth

MBA believes that consistent, controlled growth results in happier and more satisfied clients than the rapid growth model. The recent plunge of the "dot-coms" has once again reiterated to the business community that fast growth based on marketing hype doesn't result in solid, well-built companies. Our goal is not to become the largest medical billing company in the US.... just the best. Large companies simply cannot provide the personal relationship that we believe is necessary in this business.
